50/50

No, this post isn't about how I won a thousand dollars at the tricky tray fundraiser. It's just an attempt to find a reason to write stuff. Writing is about practice, which I sorely need. So read if you like. Or not. Just let me babble.

A new goal, a new blog.

Why bother, you ask?

Good question.

Why not?

My other blog is about my family. A scattered post here and there. Pictures of my kids, the places we go. This one is just for me. For the stuff in my head, my thoughts and rantings. My practice.

As a self-described procrastinator, I have come to the realization that I need structure in my life to get me to do anything - and I mean pretty much anything. Since my life is not terribly structured at the moment, I have to resort to mind games to motivate me. Like inventing fictitious assignments with self-imposed deadlines. Anything to keep me from turning into a couch potato or internet news junkie.

So that's where 50/50 comes in.

In fifty days, I will celebrate the end of my 50th year in existence in this reality. Yup, I hit the big five-oh.

So my challenge is fifty blog posts in fifty days. I can probably do it, but I doubt they will be worth reading. That's OK. For me, they will be worth writing.
